The night is a chance for acts to showcase their original music, network with other local acts and earn a little cash on the side.
Although I’m new to original live music scene, I’ve been a professional singer for over a decade, so I know how to run an event. I want to give original musicians a platform so we can lift each other up, support each other and hopefully all grow as a result. The world of promoters and earning from your music is a bit brutal and often based around how much money you can earn for someone else. I want to do something softer, with the focus being on supporting the musician. I want to provide a space where you can showcase yourself, sell merch, earn money from ticket sales and do it all in a non-pressure, non-salesy way. We’ll also have the opportunity to chat and hang out before the show, which, I think, is incredibly important!
The details.
On the night there will be 5 acts. 4 acts will have 20 minute sets each and the last act will have 30 minutes.
Tickets will be sold and when buying tickets, people will be asked who they’re coming to support. Timing slots will then be allocated on the day according to ticket sales - i.e. the act who sells the most gets the 30 minute slot, the act who sells the least plays first etc.
I want to make the night as accessible as possible, whilst giving you an opportunity to earn, so I’m doing a sliding scale for ticket prices. Ticket buyers will have 3 options and the fee will be split as below…
Standard ticket - £4.50 - 50p for admin costs, £2 to act, £2 to me.
Show some love ticket - £9.50 - 50p for admin costs, £4.50 to act, £4.50 to me.
VIP ticket (priority seating, showing some love) - £19.50 - 50p for admin costs, £9.50 to act, £9.50 to me.
The vibe.
The night will be run as a show, with the venue set up being a stage and cabaret tables. This will be a listening audience and talking whilst acts are playing will be actively discouraged. We’re targeting music lovers rather than pub goers.
The set up.
We’ll run everything through one PA, so simple, acoustic set ups work best. We have 2 vocal mics and a few channels for jacks or xlrs. I’ll chat to you about your set up when I book you in.
What you need…
First up, you need at least 20 minutes of material!
Second up - can you sell tickets? I want to work with acts and help you make your art more sustainable, for that, you need to be paid, but you also need an audience. I’ll provide you with graphics to use on your social media platforms, a template email to send to your list, I’ll even send you a message you can text/whatsapp to your people… the deal is you have to use it. I’m ideally looking for people who think they can sell at least 5 tickets. That way, we have a nice sized room of people for each other’s music and hopefully we can all grow our audiences a little and share the love!
Third up - got promo? photos or video of you playing or promotional shots? Yep, I need them so I can tell everyone you’re going to be there!
Fourth up - got merch? Bring it! There will be space to sell your merch at the venue!

Get in will be from 5pm and this will give everyone a chance to chat and network a bit before the show!
